We chose a tile that the Home Owners already knew they loved. It had been installed as a fireplace surround during a prior renovation.
We demo’d the existing small shower with its seat and half wall. The seat in the shower had been the culprit. Shower pan material had not been brought up the wall and over the top of the seat. Trouble.
A plumber removed the shower seat and half-wall. We extended the new shower as far as possible — the length of the existing walls.
The floor tile was installed on the diagonal. Diagonal tile seems to lead you into a room.
The shower walls were laid straight, with a diagonal row of the same tile as an accent.
We installed a new shower head and control purchased by the Homeowner.
Glass Contractors of Allen supplied and installed the new enclosure. The height of the glass was increased to 78″. Why? Because it looks better. We chose a brushed nickel frame to match the fixtures. Framed s glass is 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of Frameless shower glass. Framed shower glass can be installed approximately three days after the tile work is finished. Frameless glass orders take approximately three weeks.
