Bigger, Better Shower: Bathroom Remodel

The point was to update the tile in the shower. That gave us the opportunity in this Plano home to update the size of the shower as well. The outer wall was pushed out a couple of inches to the door frame of the closet. Without changing the drainage area of the shower we were still able to push out the back wall of the shower by 12″ by adding a bench seat. We also removed a tiled vertical section of the back wall of the shower and extended the new shower glass to the wall. The new shower glass was fabricated 81″ high. We chose shower glass with oil rubbed bronze framing rather than frameless glass because of  the significant cost difference. But not to shirk our patriotic duty, we infused cash into the economy by putting the significant savings towards other decor options. In decorating, as in real life, it’s often about trade offs!
