Hardwood Nail Down: Hand Scraped Flooring

An Allen client just had a nail down hardwood floor installed to replace her tired FR carpet. Nail down wood  was the new flooring of choice as there was existing nail down wood in close proximity. Narrow plank, classic smooth-finish hardwood  in the Entry Hall was visible from the FR.

Jay Bryant’s Flooring installed  and scraped wide plank hardwoods in the FR, then stained them to match the existing Entry. His crew then hand scraped the beautiful (!?!) Entry floor to match the New FR floor. Following me? This required re-staining the Entry and re-applying polyurethane.

The floors look like they were installed at the same time, not one as an afterthought. ….We like for it to look like we had a plan all along!

Several years ago Decorating on a Shoe String helped this Allen home owner select her FR paint (which she still loves! …and gets compliments on!). And that was the beginning of a great decorating relationship!
