Made in the USA — Not! Rearrangment

Unique international furniture is rearranged in Allen home.

Settling into a new home.

After two years it was becoming apparent that between working and traveling there had not been time — nor would be  time — to settle into her new home.

Rearranging.

This was the point at which the home owner called in Decorating on a Shoe String. Living abroad, this Allen home owner had accumulated unique international furnishings and travel memorabilia.  She wanted someone who would work with what she had. She liked what she had!

Bristish West Indies.

The LR windows opened to a beautiful pool — a touch of the tropics — a feel that the homeowner hoped to bring inside. We decided to tie her pieces together with some British West Indies touches, a colonial and tropical blend. The client bought a comfortable chair to add to the LR. Per her request, we brought a few things when we came to do our While You Were Out. The accessories we brought also reinforced the Bristish West Indies look: Two blue and white china lamps; a Few blue & white pillows; an Orchid plant; a Huge basket; and  Eight carved wooden panels.

Rugs.

Her rugs were beautiful and authentic, but not of the scale of her Texas rooms. We layered the rugs which made the floors twice as interesting!

The book case went to the office. A large South African console migrated to the LR from the DR….

The client and her guests have all commented that the LR feels so much more spacious now. Cozier too. Yes, both!

Windows.

Phase two will be to address the windows in this room. We found a groovy fabric at Fabric Yard. We hope to commence Phase Two when the client returns from her upcoming far-flung excursion!
