Stair Carpet

First Impression.

A riddle: What can take a beating but look classy enough to make a great first impression? How about…. patterned Entry Stair carpet?

To the right and left of the front door this Plano home had great formals, but straight ahead was a blah stairway.

Stair carpet for noise reduction.

Stair carpet for safety.

Options? Carpet was a proven plus as far as noise reduction and safety. Carpet is not as slippery as hardwood. First impression aesthetics were important, but it would have to wear well. Stairs take a beating.

We also knew that the selection of a patterned carpet would be a little tricky as three oriental carpets were visible from the front door: The Living Room, Dining Room and the entry doorway.

We picked up samples at Allen Prosource to look at on site.

For the Front stairs we chose a black and camel damask-like pattern.

While we were “playing stairs” we decided to replace the carpet on the back stairs also. For the staircase off the kitchen/Family Room we chose a more tailored pattern.

Can you tell me what brand of carpeting is on the front stairs please? (the black & camel damask). Also assuming this is a synthetic and not wool?

  2. admin says:

The brand is Stanton Carpet Mills. I purchased it through Prosource Allen.
